My talented friend….& online friends.

April 9th, 2008 by Myisha

I have a very talented girlfriend named Tasha who is one of the most witty women I’ve ever met.  She is a new friend, however it feels as if we’ve been friends forever.  She’s a mom, wife, and career woman and has an amazing ability to write very humorous stories.  I’d like to share a blog she wrote the other day that I found amazingly hillarious.  I hope you enjoy it :-)   Also I’ve met some other talented folks via online networking and I’d like to share their info with you also.  Check it all out.  Sorryeeeeeeeeeee, I know it’s all pretty long, but it’s well worth the read….I promise.

Tasha’s Blog

So it’s 9:05 PM and I am cutting carbs for 2 weeks. I’m headed to a wedding in NC and I need to shave off some pounds. I’ve gained a lot of weight although you wouldn’t be able to tell all that much by looking at me. Thankfully now that I’ve gained, it gets distributed everywhere so everything slightly increases in size versus one or two things blowing up. Yesterday I ran 2 miles and walked 1. Today I did the same thing. Never mind that my “running” is an over-exaggeration for walking swiftly. Seriously, I was jogging, but I’m sure I was going slow enough for one sitting at the top of the bleachers to think I was really walking. The point is I jogged and that’s gotta count for something. The eating went ok today and then here comes dinner. I baked some chicken wings, made mashed potatoes, and mixed veggies. The goal was to eat chicken and veggies of course and NO mashed potatoes. I have to fix them since I have 2 finicky little boys who only really eat starchy foods. ANYWAY, I did ok. The spoon that was used to scoop the potatoes out had a little leftover on it and I had to sorta clean it off before putting it in the sink and I thought my tongue would be best. DUMBASS! It was so good so of course I grab just a little taste to see how well I made them. I get through dinner with that one incident between me and the potatoes. I’ve now read to the boys, read sight words on the computer, given baths, said prayers, sang songs, put dishes away, and was about to put the food away and guess what was STILL hanging out?! You know it. Those freakin’ potatoes. I stopped everything and sat down to write because I have ZERO will power. I’m so grateful to God for keeping me from drugs because I know I would be a straight up crackhead. When I see them in the streets, I ain’t mad. I get it. I’m sad, but I sho do get it. No self-control. Who says that my lack of resistance is better than their lack of resistance to crack? We’re hooked. Jeez. Ok, so I’m marching over to the counter and slapping some foil over those suckas and they are outta here to fridgeland. Whew. I feel much better now. I’ve never done a blog before and I see how this could be therapeutic. I’m sure I’ll be posting another one soon
