Fresh faced & about to run errands rocking my Trendy Tee!

I started locking my hair in March 2008, and for the most part I’ve loved every minute of the process.  My family wasn’t very thrilled when I began, and when I was working my 9 – 5 co-workers negatively commented as well.  It’s funny how some people think that if you have less kinky hair that you are “messing up” your hair when you decide to cut it, lock it, or go natural.  It’s plain STUPID and I really got tired of hearing it!  But once I detached myself from other folks feelings, I began to realize that this was MY process and MY hair and I began to really enjoy it.  The liberation and freedom from the hot comb, beauty salon, and $100+ salon bills amongst many other feelings were just the beginning of my locking journey.

Anyhoo, before I even decided to lock my hair, I’d always admired women like Cassandra Wilson, Lisa Bonet, and Lauryn Hill for making locks look so effortlessly fabulous.  They’ve  shown and proven that hair in its natural state is just as beautiful as other hairstyles!
